Biography

J. T. Tristram-Valentine (1848–1893); solicitor and member of the British Ornithologists' Union. One of the founding members of the Society of Authors. Valentine resigned on 29 January 1885, after presenting the accounts for the first year, suggesting he didn’t believe in the Society's ability to make money. He was replaced by Alexander Galt Ross.
