Biography
George Herbert Thring (1859–1941); Secretary to the Society of Authors from 1892, taking over from Samuel Squire Sprigge when it was decided that the Society needed a full-time Secretary. He held the position until 1930. Also solicitor in England to La Société des Gens de Lettres. Became the editor of The Author after the death of Walter Besant in 1901.
