(Henry Charles) Fleeming Jenkin (1833–1885, Oxford DNB); electrical engineer and university teacher. Regius Professor of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, and known as the inventor of the cable car or telpherage. One of the founding members of the Society of Authors.
