Richard Burton (1821–1890); explorer and author.
Sir Richard Burton (1821–1890; Oxford DNB); explorer, author, geographer, translator, linguist, poet and diplomat. Published over forty books, mostly travel narratives or translations. Appointed a Vice-President of the Society of Authors.
