Sir William Frederick Pollock, second baronet (1815–1888; Oxford DNB); lawyer and author. Published a translation of Dante's Divine Comedy (1854); also wrote an autobiography (1887) and edited William Charles Macready's Reminiscences (1876). Chairman of the Committee of Management, succeeding James Cotter Morison. Stepped down in 1888 due to ill health; replaced by Walter Besant.
