Mary Mackay (1855–1924; Oxford DNB); novelist (as Marie Corelli). A prolific writer of novels and short stories; also wrote for periodicals including Temple Bar, the Ladies' Home Journal, Good Housekeeping and Harper's Bazaar. Joined the Society of Authors in 1892.
