Sir Frederick Pollock, third baronet (1845–1937;
Oxford DNB); jurist. Published widely on the history of law. Appointed a Vice-President of the Society of Authors in 1884; also a member of the
Council. Appointed Chairman of the
Copyright Sub-Committee in May 1890, established to draft a copyright bill. Took over the role of Chairman of the
Committee of Management in November 1892, when
Walter Besant stepped down. Succeeded by
Martin Conway in February 1895.
