Flora L. Shaw, Lady Lugard (1852–1929; Oxford DNB); journalist and author. Published travel writing and several novels, including novels for children; also wrote for periodicals including the Pall Mall Gazette, the Manchester Guardian and The Times. As colonial editor of The Times, she was the highest paid woman journalist of her day.
